Jamie Rosenberg Takes Over Android?s Google Play App Store

File under: News

Google made a rather huge re-branding of its online virtual application store; the Android Market recently became Google Play but whether the name change will give the company a decent marketing push is yet unknown (at least in the tablet department).

A change in personnel also took place together with the re-branding. Eric Chu, the one who took care of the Android Market, has stepped down -- while still remaining with the Mountain View company -- and Jamie Rosenberg took his place.

Jamie Rosenberg -- who came to Google from Microsoft -- was the person who brought Google Music to the world and is director of digital content for Android. His title will remain unchanged but his role will increase as he now watches over applications and games inside Google Play.
