I am writing an email to a professor in UK, shall I call him by his fist ...

If he?s a professor, refer to him as Professor. If he?s a lecturer, go with Doctor. If he?s a family member or close friend of yours, use his first name. Most students will never call their professors by their first name, and it?s not appropriate in a professional setting.

if its the first time on contacting him, use his official title,

if youve passed back a few emails in the past and are on first name basis, use his first name
