Certified dog and cat behavior consultant Darlene Arden, author "Small Dog Big Hearts," is worried about all dogs when the temperatures fall, especially small dogs. Keeping pets safe in the cold, is the topic of my conversation HERE on Steve Dale's Pet World.
Arden notes that Greyhounds and Whippets with short-hair, and small dogs need protection too. And she explains why sighthounds and those smaller dogs may need a sweater or coat. She's adds, "I'm not talking about a smoking jacket or little black dress."
She adds: "You wonder why small dogs shake - you stand out there naked in the cold."
